Om namaha song from geetanjali
Sreeram, Ilayaraja and all the others who deserve credit for the making of this song. Never before (atleast to my knowledge) was such a feat tried in telugu cinema. If you notice carefully, the song Om Namaha was shot in a single take. Yet, there is grace in every frame of the film. I am making it a point to mention this because you don't see any heavy movements in this film. Sundaram garu won a Nandi Award for this film for his choreography. Unfortunately, we did not get to see much work from Girija, who immortalized the character of Geetanjali. You watched them and liked them in movies like Shiva, Nirnayam, Gang Leader, etc. Then followed the era of bold and daring roles for heroines. Geetanjali redefined the role of a heroine in telugu films. The producer and director of the film should be appreciated for taking the bold decision of naming the film after the heroine's character. Some of them include:-Ģ) The picturisation of the song Om Namaha.ģ) The scene in which Girija expresses her desire to live and asks Nagarjuna to not let go of her after witnessing the mourning ceremony of somebody else.Ĥ) The scene in the railway station after Girija gets to know that Nagarjuna is going to die too.ĥ) The climax and the climax caption, "Inkennallu bathukutharo theliyadu.Kaani bathikinannallu santhoshamga untaru".
Om namaha song from geetanjali movie#
Similarly many scenes in this movie are still fresh in my mind. I can still distinctly remember Prakash (Nagarjuna), Geethanjali (Girija), Geethanjali's father (Vijay Kumar), Geethanjali's grandmother (Radha Bai) and Geethanjali's sisters. According to me one can judge the success of a movie, not by its collections, but by how well its characters are remembered. Geetanjali remains Mani Ratnam's only direct film in telugu despite being a commercial success. Hence, I would like to start blogging with my views on this film. Geetanjali ( *ing Nagarjuna, Girija) has always held a special place in my heart. Finally, he suggests that I should choose UP over AP (that is if the option exists) as more money can be made there. I am being anything but diplomatic in naming him in this post and I am sure I won't regret doing so. Being diplomatic is a prerequisite for being a civil servant, he says. I seriously wonder how well he is being treated in an inconsequential position in an organization doing back-end work for some other nation. He feels that being an IPS officer if equivalent to being a dog in the hands of its master. He presupposed that the sole motive of all aspirants is to earn money by wrongful means. He knew that I was preparing for the civil services examination. He is considering enterpreneurship (please do not mind the mistake in the spelling as that's how he pronounced it), an MBA from a foreign university and last but not the least a career in civil services. The guy has been working for a corporate company for a year now and is supposedly weighing his future options. The meeting turned out to be disgusting, at best. Yesterday, I happened to meet an acquaintance of mine, YV.
